Vivian graduated from Brooklyn College with a Bachelor's Degree in Education and a Masters Degree in Elementary Education. Vivian currently teaches fifth grade in the Metuchen school system, where she's worked for 11 years. Prior to working in Metuchen, Vivian taught third grade in Short Hills and fourth grade in Brooklyn, NY. She's been teaching elementary school for 20 years and loving it! Vivian is an extremely active educator. Her dedication to teaching goes beyond the normal call of duty; She formed a math lab in her school where children go for extra help, and she has written several grants, including one for a weather station for Edgar Middle school. In addition to that, she currently serves as advisor to both the Community Service Club and the fifth and sixth grade student council. Vivian is an active participant in many community service programs such as Buddy Ball, PTO, and Band & Orchestra Parents. She feels that good schools build strong communities, and strong communities build good schools. In short, teaching isn't a job or a career: it's a calling!
