Upon graduating high school, Robin thought she wanted to go into fashion marketing and attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. During her first summer off, she worked with children in a State Institute for the Mentally Retarded in Upstate NY, and realized that was her passion and calling. Robin then changed schools, attending Mills College of Education, and so began her journey working with children. After receiving a B. S. in Elementary Education and Early Childhood with a minor in Behavioral Sciences, Robin received her certification in Special Education from Rutgers University. She is a certified Wilson Reading instructor, and continues to take classes in order to update her knowledge in all aspects of education. Robin presently teaches Special Education for 5th, 6th, and 7th graders in Metuchen, NJ. Prior to that Robin taught first and second grades in a Waldorf School in Denver, Colorado and was a third grade Special Education co-teacher in the Bridgewater-Raritan School District. Robin is passionate about teaching, and loves to see the amazing transformation children can go through. For example, she has tutored students who were unable to read when leaving Kindergarten and by the end of the summer were reading on a 1st grade level!
