Michelle's first experience as an educator was as a tour guide for elementary school groups at a farm in Upstate NY. Teaching young children about farming was fun, so when Michelle entered college she decided to work with her favorite professor as a classroom aid. After graduating from Cornell University with a B. A. in Applied Economics and Management, Michelle worked for a test prep company on the West Coast. She completed the company's training course, then went on to tutor high school Juniors and Seniors in SAT math. Michelle enjoys the challenge of figuring out each student's weaknesses, and working with that student to improve not only their math abilities, but their test-taking skills as well. After moving to NJ last year with her husband and two small children, Michelle decided to continue working as an SAT math tutor on her own, instead of working for a Test Prep chain. Achieving outstanding SAT scores has become increasingly vital to a student's odds of attending a great school, and Michelle finds it very rewarding to find out how much each student's score has improved after working with her. She hopes she has helped them get into the school of their choice! Michelle has also worked as a volunteer teacher at the Maplewood Library, leading a computer course for beginners.
